GRB Houston a great place for your next exhibition. The George R. Brown Convention Center opened on the east side of downtown Houston on September 26, 1987. The building was named after the engineer, civic leader, philanthropist George Rufus Brown (1898-1983), who donated six of the 11 blocks needed to build the building.

In July 2001, the convention center was expanded and an adjacent 1,200-room hotel was built. Also after 27 months of construction, the GRB grew from 1.15 million square feet to 1.8 million square feet. Three exhibition halls and more meeting rooms were added due to growing demand. Finally the expansion was completed on December 3, 2003.

The George R. Brown Convention Center offers:

A flexible industrial warehouse of 1.2 million square feet suitable for exhibitions, meetings and registrations.
7 exhibition rooms; an area of 862,000 square feet for exhibitions.
Level 1 has 639,000 square feet of adjoining space.
Level 3 has 223,000 square feet of adjoining space.
Level 2 has 99,000 square feet dedicated to the registration area.
A stadium-style venue with capacity for 6,000 telescopic seats, ideal for presentations, concerts, corporate meetings and large-scale sporting events.
The George Bush Grand Ballroom offers a 31,500 square foot space with elegant decor and highly functional that can be subdivided into three sections.
